BOOK REVIEW: THE CASE OF THE CURSED DODO

THE CASE OF THE CURSED DODO
Jake G. Panda
Woolly Family Studios
2014

Available: paperback, Kindle

This is the first book in THE ENDAGERED FILES, starring Jake Panda. He's employed as the house detective at the Last Resort, a flophouse for endangered species. His job is to protect the guests and to ensure their safety no matter what it takes. He must track down a series of clues
that lead to a lost suitcase, a green bird and...  can't want to give it away or it'll ruin the story.  Each time he gets closer to the solution he had to deal with anew set of adversaries.
What's really fun is that Jake tells his story like it's a movie script. It rich with description, colorful characters and a wise-cracking attitude. I think kids will get a kick out of this story, the puns, the action and the fun. The bad guys are bad and the good guys good.

Target audience: 5-6
Mystery/suspense: appropriate

Kid appeal: Good
